how much debris is typical on the m46 drain/fill bolts.. 900

Greatings all!

I changed my gear box ATF today (lovely weather for it!) and was greated by a black and generally disgusting fluid....nice....wonder if it has EVER been done before..hmmm (140k)

Now the question, the fill and drain plugs have magnets in them (sort of in the centre with a void around them between them and the wall of the 'plug'. Both were ful lof gack...the gack seemed to be compossed of two varieties of crap...on was a black 'paste' (im guessing very very fine metal debris..certainly to fine to be felt as granualr between the fingers) the other was awhat i would best discribe as very fine iron fillings.

whats typical? anyone else changed the fluid and found the same, similar or different...any opinions ...my intention is to run on the new fluid for perhaps 1000 miles...then drop it again....

PS i think i have solved my long standign oil issues (but waiting for more evidence before i do cartwheels and celebrate...and post..lol)
