Quick Q on Themostat 700 1989

I replaced my 92 deg. themostat with a 87 deg. one that a friend had on hand, will this cause me any problems? So far, works fine, engine temp. norm. and heat now blasts out to make New England temps feel like I am in Florida.

High beam headlight swithch? When I "flash" my highbeams they work fine, but when I engage them to full time on the right(passenger side) beam does not work. Have replaced bulb and redone wiring from low beam to high. Anybody know whats up? Thanks for any input.

Thanks to all that gave me advice on the thermostat replace to give me heat.
