Sway bar link 700 1988

So while I'm doing the Radius Rod Bushings, I plan on doing the Sway Bar Link Bushings. I have Aluminum Control Arms, which means I have 2 bushings on each end that will get compressed as the nut is tightened.
I don't hear much discussion about this. Do the bottom nuts get tightened to a distance between washers like the top ones? Is that distance 42mm?
