Stalled and won't restart 700

740 with 220,000 started and then stalled when backing out. Now will not start. Turns over, but seems to have a fuel problem, as it tries to start but sputters while starter is cranking. Will not continue to run at all once starter (key) is released.

Opened the hood was a little bit of white smoke coming out of the front cylinder intake manifold. Obviously it seems that the gasket needs to be replaced, but is this symtomatic of some other problem?
