turning off DRL's on a Euro 940? 900 1991

im posting quite a few questions on here at the moment, you guys are very helpful.

As you know volvos all have DRL's (daylight running lights), ive read a guide on how to disable them on an 850 but it didnt make much sense to me sat in my 940. Ideally i just want a quick fix, i dont really want to replace my headlight switch. I can turn the switch so it is between settings, however this gets rid of sidelights and rear running lights only. The running lights in the headlamps still illuminate. Ive tried everything and i cant turn the main headlights off.

any help?

Cheers, Greg Case

P.S. I live in the UK, DRL's are not a legal requirement and volvos are the only cars i can recall that have them - people always tell me i'm driving with my lights on, its quite stupid really.
