Six mystery connectors to nowhere 700 1987

Here's a challenge, guys. (Many thanks to five of you for your advice about seized spark plugs. With the Brickboard and FCPGroton, I'm in Volvo heaven). Attached are two photos showing six mystery connectors under the hood of my '87 744. They are hanging loose, dead ends. In the left front area (driver's view) I've numbered them L1 (nearest to bumper), L2, L3. Same on the right. Details: L1 = blue, rectangular, rounded edges, 2 contacts; L2 = gray, rectangular, rounded edges, 3 contacts; L3 = black, rectangular, sharp edges, 2 contacts; R1 = gray, cylindrical, 1 contact; R2 = black, rectangular, sharp edges, 2 contacts (appears identical to L3); R3 = gray, rectangular, rounded edges, 2 contacts. Except for R3, the contacts are all female; another reason they're called mystery connectors. I would imagine they are all made of that special 1980's Volvo plastic; but they might still work, intermittently. What are they for? Six foglights? Swedish mechanics' portable bun-warmers? (photos are in the image library #2997/2998)
