I'm going to be doing shocks, struts and strut bearings on my 81 242 pretty soon. I'm planning on using SKF upper mounts, Sachs Advantage strut inserts, and Sachs Advantage rear shocks from Groton. I'd like everything to go together smoothly without having to go back in to add washers under the top nut, etc.
Does anyone know if these parts will fit without any problems?
Will Sachs Advantage inserts need a "spacer" below the strut insert or extra washers at the top?
What is the torque spec for the top nut?
Is there a torque spec for the rear shocks?
Any and all advice would be really appreciated. I'll have an air impact wrench on hand to loosen the top strut nuts, and a tool available to tighten up the new ones.
