930/940 No Brake Lights and Erratic Fuel Guage 900 1993

My brake lights are out. All other lights, tail,park,turn headlights,plate,fog work fine. I checked the fuse,power to the brake switch,bulbs.All ok! Any ideas?? Also for quite a while my fuel guage works erratic. It has a mind of its own. Sometimes it will work for a day,week,month then it won't. Bad sending unit??
