Two B20F Rebuild Questions 444-544

As I am moving ahead on the rebuild of the B20F (will convert to S.U.s and use the two pipe 142 exhaust manifold and headpipes) to be put into my 444 project. Two questions have come up. I have made a run through the archives but am still at loose ends with these:

1. Hardened valve seats. I know I want them but wonder if I already have them. The shop doing the work says that they cannot say for sure that the current seats are the hardened ones. The engine is from a 1974 142. The engine number is 8049 14694 but I don't know if that helps. From the archives I come away with the notion that the 1974 and 1975 engines already have hardened seats. Can someone confirm that for me or tell me how to tell?

2. Cam recommendations. The engine needs a new cam. I have decided to use a stock cam rather than a performance cam and plan to buy it from IPD. The recommendation I have from them is for a "D" grind. I believe they told me that the "C" is another good alternative but that the "D" would have better high end performance while keeping acceptable idle and low-end performance. In the archives I am seeing recomendations to use a "C" for low-end but a "K" grind for better all around performance. Can someone tell me how the "D" and "K" might compare in an engine like mine - and perhaps point me to a reference that gives the specs of these cams?

Thanks in advance for the help!
