Still it starts, runs 2-3 seconds and then dies. Ive been thinking...

It seems like it would either run, or not. Iam really frustrated with this.

I keep looking to see what is different about the circuits that would allow for it to run in one mode(while the starter is cranking), and not in another( once the starter is disengaged).

If I turn the key to start and keep it there, the engine continues firing. When I let go of the key, the engine stops immediately. If, however, I turn the key, and release it as soon as it starts, the engine will run for 2-3 seconds and die.

Its obvious that the ignition is pulsing and firing, the fuel pumps, injectors etc are working during the brief time that it does run. I want to think that there is nothing wrong with any of those components.

It just seems that a logical, reasoning mind , if it thought long enough about this would hit upon a simple explaination. Nevertheless, Ive been racking my brain all day, and Im still in the dark.

I need any help that I can get on this.

What ever you have.

Thanks

lawrence
