Our 1992 940 has been having horn issues for six years now. Sometimes the horn will work, but other times they will not. When they do not, I have tested the actual horns directly and determined that they are fine, so the trouble may be with the horn switches on the steering wheel or the wiring. I understand that the 940 provides a ground connection to triger the horns and that the positive current is always present. The dealer quoted $2,000 to fix it because he does not know what it wrong and he says that electrical problems can take a long time to diagnose. The car has 54K miles, always inside, NO accidents, and in a Southern California environment it stsys pretty dry. I am good with electrical and mechanical things and would like to fix this myself, so I wonder if anyone else has experienced this issue and can give me advice and pointers.
