'98 S90 Door handle S90-V90

For no apparent reason, the driver side front door handle stopped working from the outside only. Is it likely I need a new handle or that somehow the cable/rod disengaged? How do I get inside the door to see what the problem is? I was hoping for some advice before I start unscrewing the wrong things and create more of a problem than I already have! Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
