AMM replaced- still problematic 200

Well, replacing the AMM got the car to run again. It still has a problem where before it is warmed up it will backfire and run poorly. After warming up, it runs fine. I thought it was related to the AMM, apparently not. The preheater hose was removed long ago, if the air box thermostat is bad could this cause this condition? Other possibilites? Coolant temp sensor? Any help greatly appreciated, this is very frustrating.
