Door trim options for 1993 240's 200

A silly question perhaps, but does anyone know if black door trim (across middle of door and body) was an option in 1993? I'm looking at a 93 Wagon that has black door trim but parts of it have chipped off to reveal chrome underneath. Did Volvo paint the chrome trim black for some cars or is this somebody's custom job?
