240 Rough Idle 200 1990

My 245 has had a rough idle since the day I bought it with 21,000 miles. The engine has a "shake" to it when at idle in Park. As soon as I put it in Drive or Reverse, it almost totally smooths out. Has anyone had a similar issue with their 240 and found a cure? No amount of tuning, injector cleaning etc has ever made any improvement and I have checked everything, including intake and vacuum leaks. Someone might have mentioned a new crank position sensor as a cure, but I have never been able to find a post in here about that.
