3rd seat safety.... did the 700 or 900 series have any improvement in safety design? 700 1987

Would any of you have problems or misgivings placing your children in the 3rd (rear) seat of a 700 series wagon?

I have heard many say they wouldn't in their 245's but I didn't know if the same goes for 700's?

I'm trying to decide whether to use a 765 to transport my kids (and others kids) back and forth to school ... 30 min. drive, highway and city traffic... 3 or 4 times a week.

any thoughts would help me decide to get the 760T or buy a minivan. The minivan is not my preference however safety take priority!
