This problem has happened to me before but has not come back for about 3-4 months since changing both of the fuel pumps. The problem starts out with a difficult start. It will crank and crank....start to fire then cut, but with a little persistance it will start. Now that the car is started and appears to be idling fine I begin to drive it. The car will accelerate up to first but when i shift it to second the car does no respond to the gas pedal and does not accelerate at all! If i shift back into first I might be able to get it moving but as soon as i rev high enough to shift into second and while in second, the car does not accelerate. I push my foot on the gas pedal and NOTHING happens. This has happend to me about three times of late and oddly enough the way I get it back to running normally is to shut the car off for about a minute, then start it back up. Once this is done, it drives fine, like nothing was wrong. This has worked three out of three times so far. Another thing is that the car will not start acting like this if it is already running, it will only happen from a cold or warm start. Any insight into this problem would be great.
Thank you for your time.
