hi everyone...
My 84 240 with mech injection (aussie model) wont rev over 3000 rpm. Ive replaced the fuel filter and connected to empty bucket ...it pumped 3 litres in two minutes...I pulled the tank out and checked pre filter.. ok.
internal pump and rubber hose in tank fine.it draws about 1.5 amps
external pump has buzzing sound.....draws about 4 amps
does eveyone agree i should lash out and buy anew extenal pump..?????
my hayes manual suggests 1 litre every 30 seconds for main pump.
but fails to say whether this is installed in car and pumping through filter and over fender(increased head). car has been working fine up until recent rev problem....when i first changed filter..mech inject system made popping sound under acceleration..will this need resetting some how.back fire pehaps.
PLease help!!!!!!!!!!
