Hello
I have been experienceing some peculiar problems with my 1990 245 lately. Several months ago the fuel pumps were replaced, and ever since then whenever the car is running a low volume electronic sounds can be heard, however the car ran fine so i just ignored it.
A month or two after that the car started to act in a very peculiar manner. Under acceleration, the engine would cease to rev at a particular RPM, no matter how much gas I gave it, causing the car to buck slightly, hold at that particular RPM, and not accelerate further until I would upshift (I have a 5 speed manual). It would continue to do so in each subsequent gear as well. The strange thing is that this would occur at seemingly random RPMs and the RPM would change each time i would start the car. For example, i might start the car and begin accelerating only to not be able to rev the engine past 2000 RPM in each gear. I would then turn it off and on again and the car would be able to rev to 3500 RPM before it stopped revving.
I brought the car to one of my mechanics, the guy who did the fuel pumps. He had it for a week, and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. He said the fuel pumps were fine. I am still experiencing this problem.
Yesterday...
I was driving the car when i noticed that the coolant temperature guage was reading RED, as if the car were overheating. In addition to this, the heater stopped blowing warm air. In fact, it started blowing cold air. As you can imagine, the car isnt very fun to drive at this point, and I would like to fix it ASAP. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
