Hello All,
This is my first post here so go easy on me. I have a 1990 740 turbo intercooler with an automatic transmission. My OD died quite a while ago which I instantly blamed on the $375 (apparently made of diamonds and Platinum :) ) because it was silent when I listened for it (used methods discribed here). I went to the boneyard and pulled off the best looking unit and installed on my car but with o-rings from Home Depot that looked like they would do the job. I also just recently read that you can intall a larger outer o-ring and no inner o-ring to basically make it always in OD.
My questions are: Is the solenoid rebuildable and if so where is the info on
how to do that?
What o-rings do you all use? Volvo or Home Depot? Size?
Is the huge outer o-ring and no inner o-ring something that
will damage the tranny?
I purchased this car for $1500 with 215,000 from a dealer and the car is in awesome shape, no smoke, two tears in the interior, the only problem is this one.
Thank you all for you time!
