The 1980 245DL with a M-46 has a clutch pedal that Squeaks when I press it... Here's what I've tried so far:
I replaced the clutch cable. Felt a lot nicer for about a week or 2, then back to it's old squeaking ways.
I unbolted the pedal from pivot point, and sprayed everything inside of that thing down with lots of WD-40... Lots of it. Felt great again for 2 or 3 days, then squeaking again.
I unbolted the pedal again and cleaned out as much WD-40 as I could using rags and compressed air... Then I sprayed the thing down this time with White Lithium grease. Worked great for a couple of days, but it's squeaking again.
I don't know what to do anymore. Is there some other sort of lube I should be using?
What should be my next step? The clutch was just replaced less then 20K miles ago, so I doubt that's it...
Thanks, as always.
