My '87 240 DL sedan has a transmission and a rear main seal leak. The tranny was rebuilt 28 months ago and no problems since, but I just recently noticed the small leak. The rear main seal has been leaking oil for a couple of years. A local shop said that if I am going to repair the tranny leak, it's best to go ahead and repair both at the same time since "he's already in there" and it would just be the additional cost of the part for the rear main seal. He wants to do both for $640. I don't have any idea if that's a good deal or if it's best to just have the tranny leak fixed and continue to watch the oil leak. Also, I have a BRAND NEW (still in the box) OEM complete driver's side taillight assembly (chrome trim) for the '87 240 sedan for sell. If anyone's interested in the TL assembly, please leave contact info.
Thanks,
