Hi all! My son has always wanted a Volvo and is now the owner of an 89 740GL wagon with 178k on the clock. Full service history from the day it was sold by the dealer.
The car is surging at 1500-2000 rpm. It was much worse when we test drove it and our local Volvo expert traced it to a loose connector on the air flow meter. That solved the problem, but it has now returned only at the 1500-2000 rpm range. The air flow meter was replaced about 30k miles ago.
It's a great car with the exception of the surging problem - my 19 year old son says he doesn't see himself driving anything but Volvos in the future!
Thanks in advance for your advice.
