D-jet Aux Air Valve 140-160 1973

Trying to get stuff together for the B20F engine on the yellow peril, I
checked the auxiliary air valve by dipping the brass part in boiling water.
It didn't close so I assume it is nonfunctional. One of the chronic problems
with the car was that it idled too fast so I think I do need the valve.
I bid on one on ebay today and was sniped in the last 15 seconds of the
auction - at 18 seconds I was high bidder at $41.05 and when the smoke cleared
I had been outbid and the valve sold for $42.05. Seemed like a lot to a
thrifty Scot like me. Anyway I see a couple ways out.
1. Any of you have one that works that you'd be willing to sell or trade
(how about a nice balljoint press or maybe a timing cover for neoprene seals?)
2. I have at least one and maybe 2 electric aux air valves for the B21.
Maybe I could rig one of these. Any good reasons why it wouldn't work?

Let me know what you think - many thanks!
