headlights 700 1991

i have a quick question i went to the store today to pick up a headlight bulb for my 1991 740 gl. Now my question is it says it takes the 9000-series bulb i think it was the 9004 but what is the difference between a 9004 and a 9007 bulb they look the same. Wouldnt any of these bulbs work for my car if anybody can tell me the difference i would appreicate.
