Suggestions on removing a broken wheel stud 200 1987

Fellow bricksters -

I was loosening the lug nuts to one of the rear wheels in order to change the brake pads but it appears that the lug nut had fused tothe wheel stud. Unfortunately, I didn't find this out until I broke the stud off...... so how do I go about getting the stud out and putting in a new one without any special tools? Will hammering it out damage anything? How do I press it back in?
thanks in advance for any suggestions!
