In-tank fule pump wires 200 1988

Hi,

I've got very little time to look at this problem, so wild disassembly is out of the question. Can someone please tell me which connector in the trunk is for the in-tank fuel pump? I've got 2 cables coming out of the cover plate. One is for the pump, one is for the fuel sender. On the one cable there are 3 wires: one has an earth lug on it, the other 2 connects into a 2-way connector. The 2nd cable has 2 wires: both are terminated in bullet connectors which are mated inside a plastic box.

Could you please also let me know what wire does what. I've got a Bentley's, but both the fuel tank description and the wiring diagram is a bit criptic on the matter. Measurements and the diagram do not corrolate exactly either.

The problem I'm having is that the in-tank pump is not running. There is proper 13V at the fuse box and about 1.6A current drawn (which is correct for up to 1986, later is supposed to be double this, and the fuse box cover does state 8A for this pump only!). At the 2 way connector I'm getting almost 13V at the one wire, and about 6V at the other. At the bullet connectors I'm getting 0V and 0.2V. I think the pump is connected via the 2-way connector and the suppressor capacitor is connected via the earth lug, but that means that I'm loosing 6V somewhere. If this is the case, it would also explain why I'm getting only half the current drawn off through the fuse.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
