I had work done on my air conditioning this past summer and the mechanic that did the work put the on/off and temperature control knob (rotating knob with blue and red color markings) back in upside down and loose. Because it was loose the wire(s) that attach to it have finally worked off and it seems that the A/C is stuck in the on mode and in the position (temperature) the switch was in when the wire(s) came off.
My question is...how many wires hook up to the control and where do they go? I see two loose spade connectors/wires that appear as if they are likely candidates but I didn't want to break anything else. There are four or five possible connecting points.
Another mystery...there is a mechanism (about 2"x1"x1") with a potentiometer in it that can be turned about 180 degrees. Attached to the potentiometer is a lever that has been bent or rolled up. This unit is in an all metal (brass?) housing and is just laying in among the wiring. What is it?
Don't you love it when somebody does you a favor and decides what controls he thinks you need and what level of operation is OK for you?
Thanks for any input boys and girls. I just got through rebuilding this engine and I'm looking forward to setting the engine up per spec as far as RPM and all. But with the above problem I can't set the engine idle properly. Thanks again for input!
