I have a 1982 244 Kjetronic and i asked a question previously about the wooshing sound i heard when i pressed down the accelerator. I was told that it coudl be the vacuum check valve. Is this difficult to fix and how much would it cost for a replacement?

Also i had my thermostat changed recently and it only goes about 1/3 of the way up consistently. Here in san deigo temps are about 70's consistently as well. I'm wondering is this normal?...is it harmful to the engine? I thought volvos would have the temps at the middle?

i woudl appreciate any help
