Bilstein HD install quick questions 200

Putting in new Bilstein HD's on the front. The Gland nut that is provided has about 8-10 threads and tightens up in about 4 to 5. Just want to make sure this is enough thread to hold the coil spring. Tightened it very tight with 2 pipe wrenches. There is no spacer in the sturt tube and it butts up to the ball joint mount. should I have put some anti-seize or something else on the threads to protect them. At this point I probably just smear the outside with grease as their allready torqued.
