(Actually, it's a 240 - am I in the right room?)
So, I bought this thing in October, with evidence that $1749.02 had been put into the brakes the previous winter (December 2002). And now my brakes squeak, but only every now and then. (The car seems to want to "warm up" before she starts squeakin'; kinda like a good woman.)
In any event, is there anything "other" than a need for new brake pads that can be causing this?
Below is a quick list from the 2002 repairs:
1. replaced Oxygen sensor (apparently the car would not start and needed to be towed in - not a problem today.)
2. Front brakes - remove and replace seized front brake calipers, worn pads and rusted front brake rotors. Replace steel brake lines to calipers. Bleed system.
3. Rear Brakes - disassemble and remove rear brake calipers. Remove and replace worn rear brake pads, rusted rear brake rotors and hardware. Replace emergency brake shoes, adjust as required.
Does it seem possible that these "new" brakes should be causing me problems? Or are these intermittent squeaks not really a big deal? (Sometimes it's really loud and bothersome.) Can anybody help me? Thanks a trillion!
