Preparing a well used Exhaust Manifold... Should I paint it with Por-15 like the IPD example? {1982} 200 1976

I'm preparing to remove the exhaust manifold from the dead '76 to transplant on to the '82 short block (both engines are B-21F), and looking at this extremely rusty piece of metal, I had a question.

I'm sure any of us that have flipped through the IPD catalog have seen that picture of the Exhaust manifold half painted with Por-15. I was wondering if this is actually a good idea or not. I mean, it looked pretty cool... I don't know if it would be practical or not.

I know I can't be the first person to think about that, but I couldn't find anything in the archives.

So, what would you do in my situation?

(I've already been soaking the rusted bolts down with P-Blaster for a few days now, so hopefully I don't break any.)

Thanks as always!
