I recently acquired an 82 244 that had been sitting for maybe two years. I've been able to start it, but recently it needs both fuel pump fuses jumpered to start. Once running, idle is rough--sort of like it's missing but all plugs are firing. After it starts, I disconnect the fuse jumper and it continues to run.
I swapped the fuel pump relay for a new one and the start problem persists. I looks like the former owner was having assorted fuel system work completed--I've noticed the tank access panel removed and a new looking main pump.
I have not done any standard tuning part replacement yet. Wondering if someone might have a quick guess on at least the starting problem. Thanks.
