stalling B230K carb model from the UK. 700 1986

Hello All,
Finally got my car fixed with its constant stalling problem, needed to be revved all the time.
Took it to the volvo dealership and got them to perform a diagnostic check and an hour later they came out and said the fault is with the pierburg 2B5 carburettor and needs a new one.
Their price was ridiculous and so ordered a new carb conversion kit from another place and got a private mechanic to fit it. He fitted it and said it was still doing the same after he had fitted a new webber carb. He said he will find the fault and found that a relay had burnt out that controls the idle solenoid/cut off valve/intank pump/possibly the IAC and fitted a new one for £32.00 including the diagnosis. The relay is green and about 2 inches long by about 1 inch deep and could quite clearly see the burnt out solder joints when opened. The mechanic has worked on volvos for thirteen years and actually fixed it. He said I didnt need a new carburettor only this relay. The carb which I supplied was £220.00 and fitting was £107.00. Most likely only needed to spend £35.00.I will be using this mechanic in the future and certainly not the volvo dealer.
It now runs really sweet and feels more powerful. We have informed volvo and they are investigating and getting back to us.
James.
