I saw this "concept car" article posted on slashdot awhile ago:
news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/3528757.stm
.
I mean, most of the interior ideas seem well-thought-out, but
fergahdssake, *NO HOOD*. Maybe the average person can't repair
certain electronic parts in a modern car, but breakdowns more often
than not involve failed mechanical parts like belts and hoses that
are replaceable at the side of the road. This sounds like a way
for Volvo to make money. Although, I suspect that if this car
was ever built, I'd find a way to remove that front panel, dealer's
special tool be damned (angle grinder - the universal wrench :).

PS- Does anyone think that it would be a good idea to set up a "car
talk" forum on Brickboard where offtopic but car-related posts could
go?
