I posted some part already 2 days a go.
So I got a regulator/motor unit from the boneyard.
I purchased an epoxy glue and glued thick washers over the broken holes.
Spent about one hour to find a little tool, to get the electric
connectors separated from the black plug.
So far not a big problem.
Then I tried to find out, why the window does not slide down easily.
Straightened out a bended rail, put the mold back, removed a kind of washer
under one rail, not sure if that was original or done later.
On the old window the lower windowrail was separated,
so I got another window.
I measured it and what a surprise:
My 86 car had an 93 window which is 4 MM THICK.
The other window I got (from 84) is 3 MM THICK.
So no wonder it slides easily now, less drag.
Are the sliding rails on newer models wider?
Now I know, why some windows appear darker, they are just thicker!
Whats your comment?
Maybe thats something for the FAQ?
Have fun !
