1990,760 won't light up the idiot lightswhen first turned on. I post here because it is more like 960. 900

Hi volsters, I have a 760 that will not light up the idiot lights on start-up. I have checked output of alt. OK but I must excite the little red wire to charge. as soon as I hit it alt keeps on charging. The only light that comes on is the seatbelt warning light, all others are off. I checked all the bulbs and all are working. Don't know where to go next. The printed circuit board looks great, all the terminals seem tight. Whats up? Thanks. Pauli
