homenade strut brace idea 200

was cleaning the basement and ran into my orginal 19mm front sway bars. It appears that they are the right shape and length to be used as a strut to strut brace. also have some 1979 GT strut plates that the bar could be welded to. Good idea or bad idea? is a solid bar more or less flexible than a solid one?
