Pulley madness....? 700

My B230F front crank pulley is developing a persona all its own...

When started up cold or warm, revving the engine results in no change in speed in the belts/pulleys. ???

As expected, the voltage across the batt is about 12.6-12.8 V at first.

Then after a short warmup, everything speeds up, the fan clutch kicks in, the alt. starts doing its charging thing (13.6-13.9 V), and all seems well.

2 weeks ago, the system was working fine, with the alt. putting out up to 14.4 V. Over the winter, I noticed some squealing noises that would go away after warmup, and never had a problem with the alt. charge.

Belts are tight, swapped a known good alt. and voltage regulator in, with the same results.

Tried the "line across the crank pulley " trick to see if they were separating, appears to be intact after 2 days of driving.

Can a crank pulley key snap off or wear down without any noticeble separation in the pulley sandwich??

Am i doomed?

Any help is appreciated.
