Okay... Totally unrelated but an automotive memorabilia question

So here goes,

My father in law digs out this old pocket watch that has been passed around in the family for years. It's a solid gold Omega pocket watch that was awarded at the 1900 Paris Grand Prix (inscription on the back). Perfect working condition with the orignal red leather case with a card inside with German inscription. He has no sentimental attachment to the watch and would actually prefer to sell it.

Apart from the obvious sell it on eBay or at your local dealer, does anyone know where we could begin not only to find out what this might be worth, but where it could be sold to someone who could appreciate such a thing.

Happy Bricking All!!!
