Intermittent Hesitation when accelerating from stopped 700 1991

After clearing up the stalling problems with my vernerable wagon,
clening the throttle body, pcv and flame trop and installing new engine mounts the car is idling fine and running very well on the highway!
However a couple of times now when accelerating from stopped
the engine doesn't respond quickly...ie. you press the gas peddle
and accelration is very slow... could it be a fuel pressure problem
or an issue with the AMM or the throttle bypass valve?
I did have an AMM code come up earlier while I was chasing all the other problems, but when I pulled it and tested it using the FAQ's it tested fine.
The bypass valve has been cleaned, but just how does it work , anyone know?
Fuel pump and relays are all new, fuel pressure regulator is original
& can't find any vacuum leaks as yet...
