Heading off soon, but what does this bit do? 200

Me again, and hopefully within 36 hours I'll be driving my brick again. Taking the bus down tommorow night to try and rescue it from Singleton, and prove to the world that I'm a marginally better machanic then everyone makes out.

I've had my head rebuilt now, cost me a fair bit because the whole head was visibly warped when we took it off. I had to let the shop do a full overhaul on the head, as well as the resurfacing, straightening, and crack testing. No cracking though and no damage to the cam thankfully.

I've put my shopping list together based on you clever people's suggestions, and I just have one more question before I head off on bus tomorrow night. I've been looking over my Elring top overhaul kit, and there are two parts I can't identify. It's over 12 months since I last did a top overhaul and I can't for the life of me figure out the purpose of:

An aluminium washer or ring, looks about 15mm inside diameter.
4 grey round gaskets, they look about 10mm inside diameter.

I just managed to compress the Cam tensioner enough to fit it to the head, I pushed the spring against the wall with both hands and my full bodyweight, while I pinned it in place with my teeth. Took quite a few goes, it would help if I handn't left my tools in the car 300 kms away.

I'm going to bed now before I manage to bruise my knuckles any more. If anyone can tell me what those bits do I'd really apreciate it.

Also, is it possible to use Loc-Tite goo on the thread where the heater hose fitting screws into the head, or do I have to buy a roll of thread tape for that on job?

Thanks for reading my ramblings. Good night.
