Having been a long time volvo owner, when my collage son needed a car we found him a nice 940 non turbo. shortly after the speedo started acting up. 20mph at idle and found out ( by the guys with blinking lights) that when his car says 60 he ws doing 78
he took it to the local volov dealer who agreed speedo was in error. diagnosed ( at two hours at 65 an hour) that it was the speedo head
says new speedo is $740 installed. The speedo itsef is $690
is this true ?????
being new to the 940s we were shocked, my son now wants to get rid of car fearing all repairs will be this price range.
wife currently drives and 850
my back up is a 240 wagon
hae had over 9 volovs in the past 20 years
