T-Rex With a Transmission Problem 900

T-Rex?...my new ’93 944 “Rex”/Regina that I’m trying to bring back to life.

I had a problem with bolts in a blender noise (http://brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=775294) that had left as quickly as it started. I drove the car about 100 miles without an issue. I pulled the flywheel access plate and found this hole. Ok, loose bolt from somewhere finally made its exit.

My son rotated the engine from the crank while I inspected the torque converter and flywheel. All flywheel to torque converter bolts we intact and I didn’t see any signs of serious damage. There were a few minor scratches on the flywheel and all the teeth were intact.

After reinstalling the access plate, a noise returned from the same area after driving the car a hundred feet. It’s a metal to metal kind of a sound that a screwdriver would make if you were rubbing it on a rotating tire rim. Any ideas?
