960 and the Mobil 1 Synthetic for 'European' Cars 900

Greetings Fellow Brickboarders,

The 965 is about due for an oil change, and whilst perusing the selection at my local automotive supply shop I ran across a "new" (at least to me) Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil that proclaimed itself to be a "European Car Formula", 0W40 weight, with references to being factory fill for Mercedes and Porcshe.

0W40 sounds intriguing . . . perhaps for fuel economy and easy starts on cold mornings . . . . but then maybe this is just a bunch of marketing hype.

Anyone out there running such an oil? Shall I just stick with the factory specified weight? I'm just curious what others think.

Thanks,
kkoch
