What is the small vacuum operated device on the back of my motor? I have an '89 240 MT. I'm putting in a new transmission and my new bell housing doesn't have the cut away. What ever it is, I don't think that it's doing much since the vacuum line is rotted away. I don't see any reference to it in my manual.
