center driveshaft bearing 91 740 auto b230 700

experts on this board diagnosed my noise problem (thanks!) as possibly being due to a problem with the center driveshaft bearing. Is this usually an expensive fix (or critical?)

The problem is an odd "waaaaa" noise in 2nd gear (automatic) at high rpm's.
