Any suggestions about how to reduce the tendency for an old gas tank to rust? My poor old car sat unattended for a long while and now I seem to have a rust problem. Wouldn't it be great if a strong magnet dropped in through the sender/pump access hole could attract and hold the loose rust! I'm afraid there's not enough iron left in those tiny rust flakes to make them magnetic enough. I'm worried about wearing out my fuel pumps with the small amount of gritty rust that may be getting past the filter sock. What about an extra filter between the tank and the main pump?
