240 Brakes Feel Different than 940 Brakes -- Why? 900

Just curious. I have an 89 240 with disk brakes and a 93 940 with ABS. The braking feel between the two is way different. The 240 brakes bite hard and immediately. The 940 brakes are softer and take a bit more pedal for the same effect. Anyone explain why? Is it the ABS?
