I'm going to be looking at a 1995 940 sedan. This is the second owner. He purchased the car in 1997 from the first owner, an elderly woman on his block who passed away, with only 14K on the clock. He has owned it since and the car has 117,000 miles on it. The present owner has had it continously serviced by the local Volvo dealer. According to the owner, he brings the car in pursuant to the Volvo service book that he received when he purchased the car, and had it "stamped" by the dealer at each service. He doesn't know if he has ever had the transmission fluid changed, but instead, relies upon the dealership to do the required servicing.
When looking at this car, what should I look for in terms of problems and what questions should I pose to owner with regard to the service history of the vehicle? Thank you in advance to all who respond.
